A little something about Back in Service....

I have been involved in Emergency Services for 23 years now and still keep in touch with a few of my classmates from fire school in Newfoundland. One of those friends invited me out for a visit to his home in Fredericton, NB in 2015. During a tour of the city, we stopped off at a local flea market where a fellow firefighter was selling various items made from decommissioned fire gear and hose. I thought is was such a neat idea, I began purchasing several items each year to give out to family and friends.

Fast forward to November 2019 when I showed one of these pieces to a co-worker who immediately suggested that I do something similar here in Waterloo. So, I reached out to my NB flea market pal and asked him if he would mind if I started something similar here in Ontario. Well needless to say, Bill was in full support.

Back In Service is a new, local and sustainable accessories company that takes clean EMS gear/hose and upcycles it into various everyday products including duffel and grocery bags, reusable wine bag holders, belts and even clocks.

It was developed with three main goals in mind:

1. Help reduce the carbon footprint

2. Give back to our local communities

3. Create local employment

We have teamed up with the Regional Food Bank (Fire to Foodbank 365) and are happy to allocate a percentage of revenue from each sale to help those in need in each community that we acquire gear from.

Thank you for visiting us.
